Recital Etiquette and Reminders

Tuesday, October 23, 2018 by Constance Kamerick | Uncategorized

Hello everyone,

As this is the first recital for many students, I thought it would be best to go over recital etiquette before our recital on Sunday. Before I dive into that, I just wanted to give you a few reminders about the recital. There are two separate recitals. There is one at 1:30 and one at 3:30. If you have not given me a time yet please do so as soon as possible so I can get your child on the correct program. Halloween costumes are encouraged but they are not required. If you choose not to wear a costume, please dress formally. Even if your child is not performing at the recital for whatever reason, please feel free to still come and enjoy it!

A few simple, respectful rules to have the most enjoyable recital:

  1. I have split the event into two short segments/recitals. Please be respectful of all participants hard work and preparation by waiting to leave until after the final performance.  As I have told the students, “You want people to sit and listen while you play, so please show others that same respect.”

  2. No talking while students are performing. The less distractions the better! If you need to step out for any reason, please wait until the current performer is through with their piece.

  3. Please silence your cell phones!

  4. All performers do NOT forget to bow! :)

I cannot wait to see everyone’s amazing hard work pay off on Sunday! You should be just as proud of yourselves as I am to be your teacher! Keep up the great work!

Thank you for reading! Have a great day!
